Assessing the potential of a property you are considering buying

Visiting a property enables us to determine its strengths and weaknesses within the context of your target client's needs as well as your proximity to area services and attractions. If construction work or renovations are being contemplated, we can study your plans to determine if the rooms and common areas are optimally divided and if the home as a whole will provide you with quality of life that you seek. It will also be possible for us, during our tour of your property, to suggest ideas that will contribute to your attaining the highest number of stars or suns in provinces that impose a rating program.

Financial considerations

We can calculate the funds that you will need before, during and after you have opened your B&B. We can also answer questions such as if there are grants or assistance programs for starting up a B&B in your region, what the procedure is for obtaining a mortgage loan at a reasonable interest rate, whether it's advisable for a member of the couple to remain employed during the first year of operation, etc. Entrust us with your questions and we will do the research necessary to come up with reliable figures.

Getting the message across

A B&B can be perfect from every point of view and yet not attain sought-after success if no one is aware of its existence. Diagnostic

The success of a B&B is attributable to many factors: unique concept that makes the B&B stand above the others, lucrative target clientele, superior quality of hospitality, amenities and services provided on the premises, proximity to activities and attractions, room rates, sound internal management, marketing, aggressiveness of area tourism promoters, off-season business development strategy, absence of fierce competition, and much more.

The opposite is also true in that the difficulties experienced by a B&B can stem from a failure at any one of the above-mentioned levels.

In performing a diagnostic, we begin by interviewing the B&B's owners to fully understand their vision of the business. Then, we observe how they conduct their day-to-day activities and assess their region's attributes in order to detect where the shortcomings lie. Our observations are entered into a report and followed by recommendations that are designed to correct the situation as quickly as possible.
